Armed with his incredible 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, the King of Waltz is returning to Maastricht in summer 2026 for his now legendary hometown concert! Renowned for his spectacular extravaganzas like no other, André Rieu continues to mesmerise fans across the world with his mix of emotional ballads, iconic waltzes and witty showmanship. Come and discover what makes the violin maestro’s concerts so magical, live in the picturesque Vrijthof Square and set against the backdrop of Maastricht’s charming Old Town.
Your Itinerary
Day One: We catch the ferry to Calais and travel on for check in at our hotel, where we stay on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day Two: Today we enjoy some free time or a visit to a nearby place of interest, depending on the location of our hotel. Upon our return, there’s plenty of time to freshen up before setting off for Maastricht, where we enjoy some time at leisure. Maastricht is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, full of churches, city walls, merchant houses and big squares. There are also plenty of shops, from chic boutiques to larger shopping malls, and restaurants to find somewhere for dinner at your leisure.
This evening promises to be the highlight of our break when we head to Vrijthof Square for the spectacular open-air André Rieu concert. The violin maestro will perform his most celebrated waltzes, along with other spellbinding classical music, plus a surprise or two; made even more special in the setting of André’s hometown. After the show, we re-join the coach and return to the hotel.
Day Three: Depending on our hotel location, today we travel to either picturesque Amsterdam, Brussels or Cologne. There is plenty to do in Amsterdam, the city of canals, bicycles, cafés and so much more. Stroll through the atmospheric lanes and quarters in search of stroopwafels, explore the famous museums such as the Anne Frank Museum, a thoughtful exhibition of the famous war-diarist’s life, or take a leisurely canal cruise.
Belgium’s capital of Brussels is renowned for its beautiful cobbled central square, Grand-Place, lined with exquisite buildings. The city is also well-known for its food and drink, especially its tempting chocolate and numerous types of beers, available in the many bars and eateries!
Those heading to Cologne can tick off a whole host of iconic sights too, including the UNESCO World Heritage Cathedral and the spectacular range of Picasso paintings in the Museum Ludwig. We have time to choose a local restaurant for dinner before returning to our hotel.
Day Four: After breakfast we check out of our hotel and head back to Calais for our return ferry home.
