Puerto Calero lies to the south of Puerto del Carmen on the east coast of Lanzarote and around 20 Kilometres from Arrecife airport. The focal point of this exclusive resort is the yachting marina with its promenade of restaurants and chic boutiques. This relatively new resort does not have a beach, the nearest is at Puerto del Carmen but it does have two quality hotels of 4 and 5 star ratings both with swimming pools and ample sunbathing areas.

The resort also abounds with private villas many with pools in keeping with the up market environment of the resort.

The Marina is a lovely place for a stroll, wander around the fabulous yachts and boats and generally take in the luxury ambiance of the resort. The children can enjoy feeding the almost tame fish that live by the dockside while you spend some time relaxing over a coffee in one of the cafes or restaurants that overlook the marina and watch the world go by. If you are a little more active and want to do more than just sit or sunbathe, Puerto Calero is the base for a number of water based activities, there are a couple of dive schools operating out of the Marina who offer instruction and guided dives from beginner through to advanced levels.

If you are up for an excursion then you are in for a treat as Puerto Calero is home to the Submarine Safari, this yellow submarine will take you below the waters of Puerto Calero to view the marina life normally reserved for expert divers. Another excellent trip is an excursion aboard the Catlanza catamaran a great way to spend a fabulous day of your holiday. Swim, snorkel, relax and be pampered by the competent crew. lunch and drinks are included on this exciting excursion to the beautiful Papagayo beaches. Go for a free jet-ski ride, snorkel in the crystal clear waters and have time to relax and sunbathe. Look out for dolphins on the way back!
