Holidays to Fuengirola
The popular Spanish holiday resort of Fuengirola is situated just 20 kilometers south west of Malaga airport and approximately half way between the city of Malaga and the resort of Marbella. It is the third largest tourist development on this section of Spain's Costa del Sol, along with its near neighbours Torremolinos and Benalmadena Costa. The resort has a wide appeal and benefits from a long sandy beach and a plentiful choice of bars and restaurants.
Although Fuengirola provides something for everyone and the infrastructure here caters for all age groups, it is however probably more popular with families and older couples than with the younger crowd. The beaches here are wide and extend along the whole length of the resort area except for the central marina area from where you can take part in a selection of water sports. There is a large choice of eateries serving all kinds of food from pub grub and fish and chip shops to high quality restaurants.
There are many ways to fill your time on your holday in Fuengirola. It is possible to spend many happy hours wandering along the long flat promenade that skirts the coastline with the opportunity to stop at one or two of the many bars and cafés. If you can handle the climb it is possible to visit the remains of the Moorish castle of Sohail that is situated on the western edge of the resort. A good day for shoppers is Tuesday this is the day when the weekly market comes to town. This busy market is very popular with locals and tourists alike, here you will find plenty of local arts and crafts, leather items and jewellery.
