Your Itinerary

Day One
Fly to Los Angeles and transfer to the southern suburb of Buena Park to check in to your first hotel.
Day Two
Rest and relax, enjoy the sunshine for which southern California is renowned, or join our optional excursion to discover coastal Santa Monica's boardwalk and promenade, chic restaurants and bars, and distant views of the northern ranges, and exclusive Malibu - beachside residence of the stars.
Day Three
Today we'll head south to laid-back, sun-kissed San Diego. Check in to your hotel, and then enjoy a first balmy evening, perhaps dining in one of Old Town's many restaurants.
Day Four
Discover San Diego on today's orientation tour. Highlights include the historic Santa Fe Railroad Depot and the Gaslamp District. Across the Bay Bridge, Coronado Island is home to the Hotel del Coronado, where 'Edward' first met 'Mrs Simpson', and Marilyn Monroe filmed 'Some Like it Hot'.
Day Five
Today we'll journey across the high sierra and into the desert landscape of Nevada, for a three-night stay in Las Vegas, an electrifying city of spectacular hotels, glittering casinos and sparkling show-lounges.
Day Six
Today you're free to explore more of Vegas' countless attractions. Check out the gaming rooms, vast shopping malls, diverse entertainments and endless dining opportunities of the Strip's mega-resorts, or join our optional excursion, to the Hoover Dam a man-made marvel that's now amazingly 80 years old. This evening don't miss your chance to join us for an optional dinner show - 'The Rat Pack is Back'.
Day Seven
Relax by the pool, arrange to be pampered in a spa, or simply shop till you drop on your final full day in Las Vegas.
This evening, don't miss our optional Vegas Nights helicopter flight over the Strip, and perhaps round off your stay with a show in one of the famous lounges.
Day Eight
This afternoon you'll travel to Laughlin for a two-night stay in this colourful resort-town which stands on the banks of the Colorado River, known as 'Vegas in Miniature' because of its boardwalk, casinos, restaurants and bars.
Day Nine
One of the tour's most unforgettable days awaits, today, as you visit the Grand Canyon. We'll stop on the South Rim, to take in the astonishing views across this immense chasm, formed over millennia by the Colorado River, which still flows along the Canyon floor a mile below.
Take an optional helicopter flight for even more stupendous views, before we return to Laughlin.
Day 10
Today's long journey takes you back across Nevada's desert, and over the high sierra, back into California. You'll spend the night in Visalia, economic and governmental centre of one of the most prosperous areas of California's fertile central valley.
Day 11
The breathtaking spectacle of Yosemite National Park's plunging waterfalls, forested valley floor and towering peaks of El Capitan and Half-Dome awaits you today. Soak up the sights here before we continue to our hotel in Tuolumne, in California's Gold Country.
Day 12
For many, San Francisco is America's most attractive city. We'll stay here for two nights, and you'll be able to head out and dine in style on Nob Hill, or visit the Fairmont Hotel and ride the elevator to its top floor for the very best view of the City by the Bay.
Day 13
This morning's optional guided tour includes Union Square, quirky North Beach, 1960s hangout Haight-Ashbury and stylish Nob Hill. You'll then head across the photogenic Golden Gate Bridge to the bay-side artists' town of Sausalito. Return by Bay Ferry, taking in the sight of infamous prison-island Alcatraz.
This evening, why not head to bustling Chinatown, or to Fisherman's Wharf's shops, bars and restaurants? Board one of the "little cable cars" to "climb halfway to the stars" - or at least to ride from Market Street over Powell and Hyde.
Day 14
Leaving your heart behind in customary fashion, board the coach and journey south to Steinbeck's 'Cannery Row' - fishing town Monterey. Take in 17-Mile Drive, and visit exclusive Carmel-by-the-Sea, as you head to your final hotel, in Pismo Beach.
Day 15
The final leg of your journey south takes us past small, exclusive Santa Barbara to LA. Take a brief tour of the star-studded streets of Hollywood, and see Mann's Chinese Theatre and chart the history of the city's film industry through the hand, foot (and even hoof!) prints that line the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This afternoon, return to Los Angeles airport to board your overnight flight home.
Day 16
Arrive back in the UK, at the end of a wonderful holiday.
