Holidays to La Pineda
La Pineda is located in the Spanish region of Catalonia on the Costa Dorada. It's one of three popular tourist destinations which almost merge into one another along this stretch of coastline.
Salou is the largest and undisputed tourist capital of the Costa Dorada, immediately to the south west of La Pineda, and a little further south there's the fishing village of Cambrils. Do not confuse this resort with lively Pineda de Mar situated further up the Spanish Coast on the Costa Brava.
La Pineda is the quietest of the three resorts and active fun-seeking teenagers would find the pace here a bit slow - but this is a perfect holiday spot for families with young children and couples seeking a relaxing sunshine break.
There are a variety of bars and restaurants catering for both Spanish and international tastes and in the high season bars and night clubs stay open until the small hours. If your holiday plans include all-night partying you'll be better off in lively Salou.
Most of the action here is centered around the beaches and modern, palm-fringed seafront promenade, this extends for approximately 2.5 kilometres and is one of the longest in Catalonia. Its most outstanding attraction is the Pines de Mariscal, a pine tree sculpture with leaves created out of huge metal dishes.
La Pineda is ideal for people who love spending time on the beach as the facilities are great. There is a fantastic water park available that children will love, with fun rides, dolphin shows and slides. You can also grab a mini train ride that will take you into the not to be missed theme park Port Aventura with its thrilling rides and attractions.
For shopping fans there are several small shops around the resort that sell gifts and souvenirs, but if you want a bigger shopping experience you will be able to visit a range of outlets and be able to buy items including clothes from exclusive Spanish boutiques in the nearby Town of Tarragona.
