Holidays to Kavos

Kavos is situated on the southern tip of Corfu, forty-eight kilometres from Corfu Town. It is a lively resort geared to the younger crowd with countless bars, discos and clubs where they can party until dawn. The beach here is almost eight kilometres long and offers a comprehensive range of water sports. The tavernas and restaurants serve a wide range of cuisine including English pub food for the less adventurous palates. A Kavos holiday is very popular with the eighteen to thirties crowd who come in their droves to enjoy the sun, sand, sea in equal measures. Water sports enthusiasts will find plenty to occupy their days such as doughnuts and banana boating, jet skiing and para-sailing as well as snorkeling and scuba diving.

A Kavos holiday offers entertainment from sunny day time leisure pursuits, to buzzing sun-down to sun-up bars and clubs. The sandy beach invites relaxation and helps aid recovery from the excesses of the previous evening. The beach slopes gently into the water providing safe bathing for families with small children and for weak swimmers. If you enjoy a diversion from the beach why not stroll around the shops there are the usual gift and souvenir shops selling a range of goods including textiles, ceramics, leather items and jewellery. Those wishing for a wider selection would enjoy a trip to Corfu Town where they will find a maze of narrow streets in the old town bursting with small interesting shops and outlets.

At night the resort wakes up, there are plenty of restaurants serving a wide range of dishes including Greek, British and Chinese food. Kavos is renowned for its nightlife and is one of the top party destinations in Corfu. Its bars, pubs, discos and clubs are too numerous to mention, and the breadth of music is all embracing, from garage to rock, from house to soul and everything in between. The Rollin Stone is a good option for those who need a change from the constant beat of R&B, Garage music and the latest club mix; it plays 60s, 70s and 80s classics and is always packed. Good nightclubs include the Limelight, Venue and Future-Atlantis.

Popular excursions include a visit to the nearby water park and boat trips around the picturesque coastline. Those with a taste for local culture should make the trip to the island's historic capital, Corfu Town, which is a treasure trove of interesting archaeological sights. Also, the interior of Corfu is worth exploring for those looking for a little tranquility; it remains very unspoilt and uncrowded even during the months of peak season.
