The third largest Greek island, Holidays to Zante (Zakinthos) offer an array of beaches, from broad white sandy bays lapped by turquoise waters to secluded rocky coves. The most famous stretch of sand lies on the southeast side of Zante between Kalamaki and Lithakia. These beaches are lined with bars and tavernas and are particularly popular with sunbathers, swimmers and water sports enthusiasts. It's not just tourists who flock to this stretch of sand, but they are also nesting grounds for loggerhead turtles.

The island enjoys a wide appeal - families, couples and groups of young people all enjoy the attractions of Zante. Visitors can partake in the many popular excursions on the island including trips to: Smugglers Cove, the most renowned beach on the island, the Blue Caves, spectacular rock formations lapped by striking azure seas, the uninhabited island of Marathonissi, with its lush vegetation, and the mountain villages of Keri, Lithakia, Maherdo and Koiliomeno, to taste the local wines and traditional dishes.
Holidays to Zante are not complete without a trip to the island's capital, Zante Town. Here visitors can take a stroll round the historic St Mark's Square, visit the Solomos Museum, the Byzantine Museum or head up the hill to the spectacular ruins of the Venetian Fortress.
Evenings in Zante are spent tucking in to traditional Greek dishes in local tavernas or enjoying the energetic scene of the Laganas nightclubs. The long beachfront strip of Laganas is lined with bars, clubs and flashing neon lights. A little more relaxed than Laganas, the resorts of Argassi and Tsilivi both offer a good selection of bars and discos.
