Well known Costa Brava resorts are
Calella,
Pineda de Mar,
Tossa de Mar,
Estartit and the lively
Lloret de Mar. Calella and Pineda de Mar are a good choice for a family holiday with clean beaches and plenty of facilities. The pretty town of Tossa de Mar is set against a backdrop of verdant hills and lush valleys, with charming cobblestone streets and an ancient castle. The resort of Estartit is a small, laid back family resort set at the foot of the Montgri Mountain range and benefits from one of the longest sandy beaches on the Costa Brava with around nine miles of beaches and rocky outcrops.
Lloret de Mar without a doubt is the liveliest resort on the Costa Brava and is especially popular with the 18-30 party crowd seeking big name DJs, foam parties and thumping nightclubs. But the resort is also popular with families for its relaxed beaches and the Universal Studios Port Aventura Theme park, Europe's biggest water park, located nearby. Another family favourite is Marineland near Blanes, with its water slides, animal shows and children's zoo.
Gerona and Barcelona are the main gateway airports for the region and flights are available from all major and most regional UK airports.
