This festive holiday trip to Germany offers the perfect blend of Christmas markets, charming towns, and breathtaking castles. Your journey begins in Cologne, where you'll have the opportunity to visit seven enchanting Christmas markets scattered throughout the city. You'll then travel to Monschau, a picturesque town known for its traditional Christmas market and half-timbered houses. The highlight of the trip is an evening visit to Merode Castle, where you can experience a Christmas village sparkling within the castle grounds, lit up by thousands of candles and torches. Don't miss out on the chance to celebrate the holiday season in style in Germany.
Day 1:Travel to Germany - Sit back, relax and let us take care of you. Depart from your chosen local coach joining point and relax as we journey into Germany.
Day 2:Cologne - Begin the day with an included breakfast before heading to Cologne Christmas Market, here you can explore the many christmas markets scattered round the city. With lots to do and see this will be a very full day!
Day 3:Monschau and Merode Castle - Enjoy breakfast, then board the coach to the Christmas markets of Monschau. Here you can explore this beautiful town and see what hidden gems you can find in these markets! During the evening we will then move onto the Merode Castle, where you can explore this stunning market within the grounds of this historic castle by moonlight.
Day 4:Germany - After a festive weekend away, sadly it is time to start our homeward journey. Time permitting, we will make a stop at a cash and carry warehouse before your late afternoon channel crossing and return to your original departure point, full of fond memories.
